…walking to school. When the weather gets nice again, we all walk C. to school and PJ to work. It’s lovely to be out and about all together in the early morning, talking about the day, the birds we see or hear, and this and that. C. is our official spotter of tulips, crocuses, flowers of all kinds. “I see another one!” and whoa… the stroller wheels come to a halt as we all take a closer look.
Then on the way home, L. and I take a more leisurely pace, especially since she insists on sticking fingers into mud and examining every stick we find. So many things to love about these morning walks — L. in deep concentration, the shiny freshness all around, greeting people we know from the neighborhood, the restfulness of walking itself. Just a nice way to start the day. And one of the lovely things about spring.
